Gulliver's Cottage in Frinton-On-Sea

Poor. Don't waste your money. Positive: Location was ok if you are ok walking. Close to train station. Plenty of kitchen utensils Negative: I arrived for a 3 night break just myself and my dog as I needed a break and some downtime. On arrival the property appeared clean,light and airy. After being there a while I realised it was fluffed up to look that way. The pan in the kitchen had all the covering peeled off and not fit to put food on,the cutlery in the draw was dirty and everything had to be washed before use, as I have allergies. The washing machine did not work after putting the wash on for a hour cycle it ended up still full of powder and all soaking wet, I had to put it in a bin liner to take home soaking wet. The bed upstairs in main bedroom looked like it had not been changed and there was stains on sheet and it was very crumpled as was duvet cover,duvet had not been out in properly and none of the buttons done up on cover, no pillow protectors either. I decided to sleep downstairs on sofa bed but changed my mind immediately after opening as mattress was covered in what I could describe as blood stains. I spent 2 nights on the sofa with a throw from the car. The bath was tiny and the plughole full of someone else's hair, gross right. The shower was ridiculous as either boiling hot or freezing cold. The garden was extremely overgrown and was not pleasant to sit in and even the dog didn't want to go out there. The lady next door was worried at my dog as the pathway at the top is shared with a gate either side, so it's not a private garden. Bin was full outside and rubbish in front garden had to leave mine on top of bin.I ended up leaving a day early as I felt more miserable and annoyed than i did when I arrived. Final conclusion. Extremely overpriced for what you get. Not very clean and no care and attention with anything and it's a very tired looking property. I messaged the property Host on the coast when I returned home and have had no reply. Have taken the matter up with booking.com.

Super cottage with everything you need. I only wish we could stay longer. Positive: Great location, so near the shops and the beach. As we have stayed here last year, we knew how nice the cottage was and the road was quiet. They added in a bannister so it made the stairs feel more safe for the kids and elderly parents. Negative: It could do with a little paint refresh and a few more lights in the bedrooms as it is quite dark with just the main lights. But overall a lovely place as we keep coming back and spend all day at our beach hut.

A good value clean , nice property with a good location for frinton high street and beach Positive: Near frinton highstreet short walk from beach Negative: A little outdated compared to some properties garden a bit overgrown and items provided in garden cobwebs in cupboards wouldn’t use bathroom door was hard to shut

Very good and will come back. Positive: It's all about the location! 4 minute walk to the train station and a 10 minute walk to the shops and beach, absolutely perfect. Negative: Don't sleep with your windows open as the seagulls are incredibly noisy first thing on a morning!

Positive: Very lovely little homely spot, with a great seaside vibe. Close to the town, comfortable and with easy parking and access. Negative: The stairs might be a little steep for anyone with mobility issues.
